The magical county of Etoloakarnania is the western most county of Central Greece and borders on the southeast with Fokida, and northeast with the county of Evritania, which is part of Thessaly.
With the completion of the Rio-Antirio bridge in 2004, Etoloakarnania became instantly accessible via the Peloponnse region of Greece.
This bridge has opened the way for many visitors to Greece to venture over the Corinthian Gulf and to visit some of the magical parts of Central and Mainland Greece.
Mesologi is the capital town of Etoloakarnania, and is located approximately 7km from the Rio bridge. Mesologi is a very important economical centre and trading port for the county.
As well as this town, there are many other beautiful and interesting places worth visiting. One such place is that of Nafpaktos, a beautiful costal town. The dominating hill with the castle pearched on top is a popular tourist attraction and the panoramic views from here are truly inspiring.
